Press statement | 13.03.2020 Recommendation on lack of cooperation of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina in respect of the violation of the right to access to information Access to Information On 13 March 2019 Dario Sandić, a resident of Banja Luka addressed the Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina in respect of the alleged violation of the right to free access to information by the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Namely, the above named filed a request to access to information with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 29 January 2019. During its investigation, the Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina contacted the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina twice, but they failed to provide reply to any of these inquiries, thus obstructing the Ombudsman in carrying out an efficient investigation. Given the above facts, on 25 February 2020 Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued their Recommendation no.: 52/20 to the manager of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina asking them to do the following: 1. Following the receipt of this recommendation to establish cooperation with the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina pursuant to Article 25 of the Law on Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina and furnishes Ombudspersons with the asked reply to their inquiry 2. To reply to request for access to information filed on 29 January 2019 pursuant to provisions of the Law on Free Access to Information of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 3. Within 30 days from the day of the receipt of this recommendation to inform the Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the measures taken on its implementation.
