The meeting was held on the initiative of the Ombudswomen with the aim of improving cooperation between the Cantonal Government and the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina. They discussed the general situation of human rights in Canton Sarajevo, and especially complaints in the work of the Ombudsmen, concerning the complaints in which the opposing party is indicated Canton Sarajevo. As of the Institution of Ombudsman and by the Prime Minister Konaković, there has been observed a great progress in the area of social protection. Ombudswomen of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Džumhur and Jukić pointed out that the largest number of complaints is related to the segment of education, particularly in the area of competition procedure and employment in schools stressing the importance of amendments to the Ordinance with the criteria for admission of employees in primary and secondary schools as well as public institutions in Canton Sarajevo. Ombudswomen Jukić and Dr. Džumhur noted that in the Constitution of Canton Sarajevo there is no provision defining the use of official languages and scripts. Great importance is attributed to the introduction of external graduation as a pilot project in primary and secondary schools. The conclusion is that this should not be introduced at the end of the school year and that the Ombudsman Institution in specific cases when it comes to external graduation will issue recommendations. As current issues are listed issues of regular water supply, air pollution, solid waste disposal, drain and sanitation of waste water, which should be a priority to regulate for the benefit of all citizens. It was agreed to continue further cooperation and organize a joint meeting which will be attended by Minister of Education Mr. Kazazović with a view to more efficiently and more successfully cooperation on specific issues.
