Press statement | 13.01.2022 World Day of Religious Freedom World Religious Freedom Day On the occasion of January 15, the World Day of Religious Freedom, the Ombudsmen of Bosnia and Herzegovina use the opportunity to call on the authorities and citizens to be fully committed to this issue and to continue their commitment to full respect and tolerance. For the past few weeks, our public has witnessed phenomena that are in many ways the opposite of that, but also examples of essential respect for religious freedom, such as the Jašarević family from Mostar who returned icons to the Serbian Orthodox Church and saved them during the war. Commitment to religious freedom must not only be a declarative act but must be followed by personal example.
