Recommendation to the Police of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina on taking more adequate measures within its competence

On 19 July 2021, a party from Brčko addressed the institution of the Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regarding the failure to take adequate measures by the Police of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regarding the complaints appointed.

Following the investigation procedure, the Ombudsmen sent Recommendation No. P-309/21 to the Police of the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina on 13 December 2021, as follows:

1. To take more appropriate measures in the light of the Conclusion set out in this recommendation and to review their actions regarding the nominees' applications;
2. Yes, in the future, when taking measures within their competences, all in accordance with the positive legal regulations, keep in mind the Finding and the conclusion presented in this recommendation;
3. To inform the Ombudsmen for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the manner of compliance with this Recommendation within 30 days from the day of its receipt.

The implementation of the recommendation is being monitored.
