Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina at Initiative 2020 meeting in Bled

Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Professor Ljubinko Mitrović, Jasminka Džumhur, PhD, and Nives Jukić are to take part in the second meeting of Initiative 2020 in Bled, organised by Information Commissioner of the Republic of Slovenia, Mojca Prelesnik, and to take place between 3 and 5 October 2021.

Chair Ombudsman Professor Ljubinko Mitrović will present his paper “Access to Information in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Current State of Play and What Next”.

This event offers a platform to discuss issues concerning the right to free access to information, including the trends and challenges in implementing the legal framework for access to information, the role of the appellate body in defending the freedom of information, the challenges in working on the cases, but also the abuse of right to free access to information.

The meeting is also an opportunity for an active exchange of expert opinions, experiences and best practices, with a view to resolving common challenges faced by all supervisory bodies from the region that take part in this Initiative when protecting personal data.
