Ombudsman Professor Ljubinko Mitrović one of panellists at annual conference of HUGEN Network

Chair Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Professor Ljubinko Mitrović, took part at the second conference of the Human Rights and Gender Equality Network of Committees in the Western Balkans (HUGEN) today as one of the panellists on “Strengthening the cooperation between parliaments and ombudsman institutions – possible road towards improving human rights in the Western Balkans”.

The idea behind this panel discussion was to present the challenges faced by ombudsman institutions in the Western Balkans concerning the implementation of recommendations from their annual reports, but also to raise the issue of whether cooperation between different institutions should be improved in order to improve the process of implementing recommendations and present some of the key proposals to improve the exercise of human rights and freedoms.
