Ombudsmen at a meeting with the Special Rapporteur on the promotion of truth, justice, reparations and guarantees of non-recurrence of crimes

Ombudsmen of Bosnia and Herzegovina prof. dr. Ljubinko Mitrović, Ph.D. Jasminka Džumhur and Nives Jukić will talk on Monday, December 6, 2021 with the UN Special Rapporteur on the Promotion of Truth, Justice, Reparations and Guarantees of Non-Repetition of Crimes during his official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting will be held in a combined format, where Ombudsmen Jukić and Džumhur will attend the meeting live in the Sarajevo Regional Office, and Ombudsman Mitrović online from the Headquarters of the institution in Banja Luka.

The purpose of the visit is to assess the measures taken by the authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the field of truth, justice, reparations, remembrance and guarantees of non-repetition, which were taken to address serious violations of human rights and humanitarian laws committed during the armed conflict in the region. had a full insight into the initiatives taken and identified good practices, possible gaps and shortcomings, and formulated recommendations in this regard..
