Ombudspersons with SIGMA expert team on situation in public administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina Professor Ljubinko Mitrović, Jasminka Džumhur, PhD, and Nives Jukić, along with Head of Office Haris Šahbaz, held an online meeting today with the SIGMA expert team led by Accountability Expert Wojciech Zielinski.

The situation in the public administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina was discussed at the meeting, for the purpose of clarifying uncertainties and obtaining additional data relevant for certain areas of administration, from the perspective of work and functioning of the Ombudsman Institution.

This year’s measurement of the situation in the public administration of Bosnia and Herzegovina conducted by SIGMA, a joint initiative of the European Union and OECD, will serve as one of the key documents based on which the progress made will be assessed, not only against the Principles for Public Administration, but also in terms of the assessment to be made by the European Commission on the progress made against the recommendations from the Opinion and the accompanying Analytical Report on Bosnia and Herzegovina’s application for membership of the EU for the area of public administration reform.
