Press statement | 25.08.2017 Presentation of the Special Report on the Situation and Threats Against Journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina Presentation of the Special Report on the Situation and Threats Against Journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina On Monday, 28 August 2017 starting at 11:00 in the press room of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina Jasminka Džumhur, PhD, Nives Jukić and Ljubinko Mitrović, PhD, will hold a press conference and present its "Special Report on the Situation and Threats Against the Journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina". Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina have prepared this report in co-operation and with support of OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina aiming at shedding more light to the issues related to the situation of journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to contribute to its improvement as a prerequisite for ensuring the freedom of expression, human rights and freedoms in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This report should ensure identification of the main directions for institutional actions toward resolving the challenges in this field. Special report also comprises a certain number of recommendations issued by the Ombudsman to the relevant authorities and institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Considering the importance of this issue for human rights and the rule of law, and bearing in mind the social role of journalists, the Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina has prepared the Special Report on the basis of the recommendations of the Council of Ministers adopted at the 43rd Session held on 26 January 2016 within the framework of establishing the Action Plan for the Implementation of the Priorities defined in the 2015 European Commission's Report on Bosnia and Herzegovina.
