In Bihać held round table on implementation of recommendations of the Ombudsmen

Within a joint program of the Council of Europe and the European Union "Instrument of horizontal cooperation in the Western Balkans and Turkey," held in Bihac on Tuesday, 25 April 2017 in the framework of the project "Strengthening the capacity of the institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the fight against discrimination" a roundtable titled: "Cooperation with the Ombudsman for Human rights - Implementation of the recommendations and the co-ordination of activities."

As part of a panel discussion, with the participation of lawyers employed in the Institution of the Ombudsman, in interviews with representatives of public authorities, special attention was paid to the implementation of the recommendations of the Ombudsmen, then preventive action and the role of the Ombudsman Institution in the prevention of human rights violations, and establishment of a model of permanent cooperation between the Ombudsman Institution and relevant institutions.

The three-year program "The instrument of horizontal cooperation in the Western Balkans and Turkey," in support of South-East Europe and Turkey in their efforts to comply with European standards is focused on three themes: ensuring justice, the fight against economic crime, as well as anti-discrimination and protection of rights of vulnerable groups.
