Ombudswomen, Dr. Jasminka Džumhur and Nives Jukić today received Prime Minister of the Canton Sarajevo Elmedin Konaković. The meeting was held on the initiative of the Ombudswomen with the aim of improving cooperation between the Cantonal Government and the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As of the Institution of Ombudsman and by the Prime Minister Konaković, there has been observed a great progress in the area of social protection. Ombudswomen of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr. Džumhur and Jukić pointed out that the largest number of complaints is related to the segment of education, particularly in the area of competition procedure and employment in schools stressing the importance of amendments to the Ordinance with the criteria for admission of employees in primary and secondary schools as well as public institutions in Canton Sarajevo.

Ombudswomen Jukić and Dr. Džumhur noted that in the Constitution of Canton Sarajevo there is no provision defining the use of official languages and scripts.

Great importance is attributed to the introduction of external graduation as a pilot project in primary and secondary schools.
