Ombudsman Nives Jukić visited the Social Work Centre in Mostar

Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nives Jukić and Ivana Džidić, Professional Associate of the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina visited on Tuesday, 21 February 2017, the Social Work Centre in Mostar.

Ombudsman Jukić met with the director of Social Work Center in Mostar, Zdravko Marić, social workers and psychologists of the Center on specific complaints received in the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as issues relevant to the promotion of social welfare in the city of Mostar and improving the rights of beneficiaries of the Social Work Centre Mostar.

Special attention during the talks was paid to the issue of realizing the protection of children's rights under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, especially pronounced problem of child begging.

At the end of the meeting the participants agreed that it is necessary to work on a comprehensive approach in which should include stakeholders from various sectors and expressed the expectation that in the future there will be more frequent meetings and exchange of experiences further to enhance cooperation for mutual benefit.
