Press statement | 10.02.2017 Ombudspersons prepare a Special report on situation of journalists and cases of threats against journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina The status of journalists in BiH, Illustration Based on recommendations of the Council of Ministers adopted at the 43rd session held on 01.26.2016 and in the context of defining the Action Plan for the implementation of the priorities of the European Commission's Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2015 Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina prepared their Special Report on the situation of journalists and cases of threats against journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For preparation of this special report it is necessary to consider the legal status of journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina, analyze the effectiveness of the established institutional mechanisms with special reference methods of their operation including their accessibility to journalist. An important segment of this research is gathering relevant information from all relevant stake-holders, primarily media outlets, journalists' associations, non-governmental organizations, governmental institutions, etc. In order to have a comprehensive review of the situation of journalists in BiH Ombudspersons saw it necessary to collect and analyze the answers of the journalists relating to issues relevant to their employment status, their labor rights and obligations, safety in performance of professional duties, freedom of expression, protection of all forms of discrimination against journalists, etc. For purposes of the above survey, Ombudspersons are calling on the journalists to submit their replies to a Questionnaire posted on the web-site of the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina by ordinary mail to address: Institucija Ombudsmena BiH, Grbavička 4, 71000 Sarajevo, or to the following email: info@ombudsmen.gov.ba/.
