Ombudsman's Activities | 10.02.2017 Workshop on Implementation of Recommendations of The Ombudsman Aimed at The Improvement of Situation of Juveniles in Conflict With Law Workshop on the implementation of the Ombudsman's recommendations to improve the situation in institutions for juveniles in conflict with the law In organization of the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina with support of UNICEF, in Ethno-Village Čardaci, nearby Vitez, a two-day workshop on implementation of recommendations of the Ombudsman issued in its “Analysis of the situation in institutions accommodating juveniles in conflict with law in Bosnia and Herzegovina“, which was prepared due to the need to achieve better protection of children in conflict with law with the objective of their resocialization and re-integration into society instead of their exclusion and stigmatization. Purpose of this “Analysis”, according to Ombudsman Ljubinko Mitrović, PhD, is “in a single document to present to the public, including primarily experts, state authorities and institutions dealing with minors in conflict with law, the current situation of institutions accommodating these minors. On the other hand, it is necessary to find modalities to influence the responsible parties in BiH to improve this situation to which end the Project team gave the general recommendations of the Institution of Human Rights Ombudsman of Bosnia and Herzegovina in this field”. Preparation and publishing of the “Analysis of the situation in institutions accommodating juveniles in conflict with law in Bosnia and Herzegovina” was possible owing to support of UNICEF given in the framework of the Project “Justice for every child” supported by the Swiss Government and Swedish Agency for international development (SIDA).
