Ombudspersons of BaH Condemn Attacks to Journalists

In respect of information on verbal attack on the journalist of the N1 Television, which took place during the New Year's reception at the Palace of the President of the Republic of Srpska, Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina once again publicly condemn all the attacks and improper or inappropriate behavior towards journalists and all media workers who are occurred recently in Bosnia and Herzegovina, particularly in the Republic of Srpska.

Ombudspersons particularly condemn restriction of freedom of the press as a pillar of a democratic and pluralistic society, and also indicate that labeling the journalists can complicate their task to inform the public.

Given the frequency of similar incidents that took place recently, Ombudspersons of Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to prepare a Special Report on the situation of journalists and cases of threats against journalists on which the general public will be informed in due course.
